CoatCount

Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how CoatCount ("CoatCount", "we", "us") handles information when you use our website and calculators. We keep things simple: the tools do their work in your browser, and we collect as little as possible.

The short version

Our calculators run entirely in your web browser. The measurements you type in — room sizes, quantities and so on — are processed on your own device to show you a result. They are not sent to us, and we do not store them. You don't need an account to use CoatCount.

Information we collect

We do not ask for, or knowingly collect, personal information such as your name or email. The only information gathered automatically is the standard technical data almost all websites receive — approximate location (country), browser type and pages viewed — used to keep the site secure and understand how it's used.

Cookies

We use cookies to understand how the site is used (analytics) and to display advertising that helps keep the calculators free. You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings at any time.

Advertising

We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. You can opt out of personalised advertising via Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors at aboutads.info/choices. If you are in the UK or EEA, we ask for your consent before personalised ads are shown, using a Google-certified consent message.

Affiliate links

Some links on CoatCount — such as the product suggestions in our "everything you need" shopping lists — are affiliate links. If you click one and make a purchase, we may earn a small commission from the retailer (for example through the Amazon Associates programme), at no extra cost to you. These commissions help keep the calculators free. We only suggest products relevant to your project, and a commission never changes the price you pay. Affiliate links are marked and disclosed wherever they appear.

Third parties we rely on

Our site is hosted on Cloudflare, advertising is served by Google, and affiliate links point to retailers such as Amazon and their partner networks. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law (UK GDPR) you have rights over your personal data, including access, correction and erasure. Because we hold little or no personal data about you, most requests will simply confirm that we do not store your information. To ask anything, please use our contact page.

Children

This site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any changes will appear on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
